LOBOLive! Low and Fast - Is It Safe and Is It Legal?

TOPIC: Regulations and safety concerns related to flying low and fast.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 19:00 Central Standard Time (17:00 PST, 18:00 MST, 20:00 EST, 15:00 HST, 16:00 AKST, 18:00 Arizona, 01:00 GMT).

In this presentation Jeff Edwards will discuss the hazards, risks and consequences of intentional low-altitude flight for thrill purposes. As a former Navy A-6 Intruder bombardier/navigator, Jeff is uniquely qualified to speak about the hazards of flying low and fast, especially since he did it for a living. Often called “buzzing,” many pilots and passengers have perished through the years participating in this aeronautical activity.

The presentation will describe the FAA regulations, mainly 14 CFR Part 91, concerning TFRs, altitude, flight, aerobatic flight and airspeed limitations, as well as the legal ramifications of intentional low-altitude flight for thrill purposes.
