Charlie, I reviewed some notes, the standby alt I had was spinning a Bearing in the rear housing and assembly was sloppy when removed for repair of the windings. No doubt it was rumbling as it spins at 3500 rpm and is at the far rear of the engine. I still think it is worth looking at every 500 hours or so at least to test the windings. |
