Alternate forward-hinged canopy

A few questions for either Jim Frantz or Pete Cavitt:  regarding the

alternate method of forward-hinging the 360 canopy... the factory kit for

forward-hinging the canopy requires a considerable buildup of carbon fiber

along the entire front edge of the canopy where the hinge brackets mount.

Is that same buildup required with the hinges that mount along the

longerons?  And what are the approximate sizes (greatest dimensions) of

that hinge arm from front-to-back and top-to-bottom?  Is 6061-T6 appropriate

for its fabrication or would either of you recommend a different alloy?
