Instructor Needed for Unique Situation

I am about to close on an ES-P.  Insurance is now requiring that I get training from a CFI that has 50hrs in the ES-P.  Non pressurized ES time doesn’t count.  I have exhausted my contacts and can’t find anyone.  If that person exists, please let me know.

I think that the pressurized ES time is irrelevant if you have tons of time in pressurized aircraft...I can speak with your broker.  FYI all of us LOBO instructors have lots of pressurized aircraft time.  And the ES being the most docile of the Lancair Fleet anyone of us can give you the LOBO course.  I have been flying our ES since 2010 and can help, but I have a full time job and live on the East coast, thus my availability is limited.

Thanks for your insight.  As I said above, the deal fell through so it is now irrelevant.  But to expand on the situation, there was only 1 insurance company willing to insure me in the ES-P.  And they were requiring an approved LOBO instructor who had time specifically in the ES-P.  I told them that would be nearly impossible to find.  After a lot of back and forth, they finally acquiesced and agreed to allow a LOBO instructor with ES time who also had plenty of time/experience in other pressurized aircraft.  They would only allow 1 instructor to be listed, and it had to be pre-approved by them.  They approved Chris Rust and we were set to go and then the buyer backed out.  So I'm back in the hunt for an aircraft.

Did you contact George Rosel about this issue?  He is the acting director of training and can put you in direct contact with the lead instructor for the ES series.  That instructor has the duty and obligation to assure you get your training!  If he can’t do it, it’s his job to find a LOBO qualified instructor FOR YOU.
