Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can find a new [or servicable
used] nose gear for a 235/320? I looked at lancair's website for parts but as
expected there isn't anything listed there for the older generation a/c.

I've inherited my fathers 235/320 project [has been on the self for ~10yrs
due to his loss of medical]. Now I've been gifted it and am hoping to finish it
but there are lots of questions in regards to components still needed [the big
one being the oleo style nose gear].

Thnx

Jarrett,

During your long absence, this mailing list has been
virtually replaced with the Lancair Forum.  Go there to get to the
most Lancair people.

To help with your search,  the front oleo strut for the 235 airframe
was made in very limited quantities, a lot of them by special order.  They
have not been made for over 10 years.  The original manufacturer, in
Australia, no longer makes Lancair oleo struts.

It is likely to be a very difficult item to find.  I only know of one
235 airframe that has been parted out in the last several years.  The
oleo nose strut was the first item to sell.  Buying a complete airplane may
be the only way to get one.

Not what you wanted to read.

Jarrett,

The Lancair online community has moved to http://lancairtalk.net/index.php?mobile=desktop this location.  You’ll have to register and get a username and password but that’s where the action is these days.

Hey Gary, ya it's been a long absence for sure. Not suprising on the oleo
news, was in-line w/ what I expected actually. I'm not sure where that leaves me
or if I should even attempt to complete the airframe. As I understand it, it's
virtually un-flyable with the original caster wheel setup. I guess there is
enough engineer in me that I could design and build my own but I'm not sure it's
worth it or not. At this point I've not the funds to immediatly get to deep into
it anyway, (it just litterally dropped into my lap quite suddenly) so an
immediate purchase isn't possible, even if I found one that would do the job. At
this point I was more just looking at my options type of thing.

Joseph, thanks for pointing that out. It's noted as a 360 unit which may not
fit but might possibly be 'made to work', I'm not sure? I appreciate the heads
up however!

Danny, thanks for pointing out the forum. I'm now registered there and will
post any additional questions over there.

Thanks guys

Jarrett
