Plans for the 2019 LOBO Landing are shaping up! This year's premier Lancair event will be held from from 3–6 October in Saint Louis, MO, the city where Lewis and Clark set off to explore the great American west. The gang is gathering at the Creve Couer Airport (1H0) to visit with old friends, learn a thing or two, and see the most beautiful aircraft in the world.
You can arrange lodging accomodations this year at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in St. Louis/Chesterfield, MO. We've arranged special event pricing at $139 per night, which includes a voucher for breakfast. When making your reservations ask for the LOBO rate.
Thursday is Ground School at the Double Tree Hilton, with lunch around noon. This will satisfy the ground training portion of your LOBO flight review. Chris Zavatson will be back for his acclaimed presentations on Lancair hydraulic ssytmes and all things for 200-300 series Lancairs. Plan ahead now to spend Thursday evening exploring St. Louis. The Hill is one of the region's most colorful neighborhoods, boasting a long history and some of the country's best Italian cuisine.
Richard McSpadden, former commanding officer of the USAF Thunderbirds and Executive Director of the AOPA Air Safety Foundation; Tom Turner, author of Mastery of Flight series, Flight Instructor Hall of Fame and 2010 National FAA Safety Team Representative of the Year and executive director of the American Bonanza Society Air Safety Foundation; Rudy Haug, USAF F100 Vietnam veteran and McDonnell Douglas and Boeing chief test pilot; John Teipen,former Director of Training for Graybar Electric Inc., a Fortune 500 company, former FAA designated pilot examiner, 2005 FAA National Certificated Flight Instructor of the Year and 2008 FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) National Representative of the Year; Chris Zavatson, talented engineer and renowned expert on Lancair 200-300 series aircraft.
Forums begin and continue throughout the day on Friday at the Double Tree Hilton, with lunch around noon.
Hoedown in the Hangar
Bring your wet naps and dancing shoes to 14301 Creve Coeur Airport Hangar 1HO Friday evening! The bar opens at 5:30pm, offering free beer/wine/soda until 9:30pm. Dinner at 6:30pm will be a traditional Saint Louis BBQ, with Smoked beef brisket and sausage, a full selection of sides, and peach or cherry cobbler for dessert. Be sure not to eat too much, because the "All or Nothin" band will play three sets between 7:30 and 11:00 pm.
Saturday is another full day of forums at the Double Tree Hilton including lunch around noon.
Saturday night is a formal banquet with a full dinner and a cash bar.
Registration fees will cover ground school, lunch for each day you attend, the Hoedown on Friday night, and the Banquet on Saturday.
