Welcome Many aircraft fleets have type clubs. Like some of you, I have belonged to a few through the years. My affiliation with those clubs has been a tremendously positive experience, paying dividends many times the cost of my dues. Membership in type clubs has allowed me to meet many good friends, share great times and become a better pilot. Type clubs exist to support the community of people who share the common bond of flight. The benefits are manifold, but perhaps most importantly include the sharing of collective knowledge about building, maintaining, operating and owning these fine airplanes. Members also enjoy the camaraderie type clubs offer including fly-ins, maintenance clinics, Airventure formation arrivals, technical advice and more. LOBO intends to organize many activities such as these. Look at our news page for more information about such events as the news becomes available. LOBO will work hard representing members in issues that matter, like insurance, airport access, experimental aircraft issues, government regulation and more. Our founding members, Claudette Colwell, John Halle, Mark Sletten, Bob Pastusek are all Lancair owner/ builder fliers and will work hard to make the Lancair community the finest example of amateur-built experimental aviation in the world. LOBO's throttles are firewalled, and we're at rotation speed! As a member of your new Lancair type club, I promise you no longer will feel like a lone wolf out there. Lancair aircraft have a solid reputation, and we want to keep it that way. Our pack is taking off and we welcome aboard all who share our vision of continued enjoyment and enhancement our aircraft, unfettered by unreasonable cost and government regulation. We are looking for more leaders and volunteers to build LOBO into the organization we all want it to be&and the best in GA today. If you have ideas, suggestions or some free time to make it happen, please contact one of us. Background LOBO intends to be your one-stop-shop for all things Lancair. We see our primary mission as that of promoting the safe use and enjoyment of Lancair aircraft of all types, with an emphasis on owner, operator and builder education and training. In pursuit of this mission, LOBO will build partnerships to enhance communication and cooperation between its members, Lancair International Inc., aviation training and insurance providers, manufacturers and suppliers of aircraft building, operating and maintenance equipment supporting Lancair aircraft, US and international regulatory agencies and the wider general aviation community. Finally, LOBO will encourage the enjoyment and use of our aircraft through fellowship with other Lancair aircraft enthusiasts. By planning and organizing membership-supported fly-ins, meetings, forums, symposiums and other gatherings open to the wider general aviation community, we can share our respect, appreciation, enthusiasm and love for Lancair aircraft of all types.
